Achievements
Some of the achievements of AWARE Group are as follows:
  • AWARE made 3,000 villages self reliant and helped 2.5 million families to cross above poverty line.
  • AWARE brought 54,761 acres under cultivation of which 42,137 acres were brought under assured irrigation.
  • AWARE activities and programs led for 1,15,608 new employment generation.
  • 1,55,904 families established self-reliance. 
  • 1,69,526 farmers and 1,57,700 landless families and 5,18,261 women were benefited. 
  • 11,33,492 man-days of work was generated by AWARE’s programs.
  • Watershed Program undertaken by AWARE in collaboration with State Government rejuvenated 20,000 acres of land.
  • 32,254 Bonded labourers were released and rehabilitated.
  • 3,38,655 became new literates out which 1,56,000 were women.
  • 3,00,000 trees were planted and grown.
  • 1,100 bio-gas plants were constructed in the villages.
  • 24,000 smoke-less chullas were installed in tribal villages.
  • 142 forest protection groups with tribal’s of local area were formed to prevent smuggling of logs from the forest.
  • AWARE introduced Dharma Katas (free weighing machines) helping tribals to get correct weight for the products brought by them for sale.
  • 3,35,846 families received legal service from AWARE Legal Program.
  • 1,656 women were trained as barefoot legal workers.
  • 44,000 acres of land was reclaimed from illegal occupation and distributed to landless poor.
  • AWARE’s Health Program is serving 2,50,000 families annually with Medical care, health education and training Para medicals.
  • From 1977, AWARE actively participated in many natural disasters like cyclones, floods and earthquakes, and provided relief and rehabilitation to 200,000 families.
